News & New Stuff

July 25, 2007 As I said below, I was in Eve magazine recently. It's a "top uk glossy" and only available in the uk (or you can buy it online). Here is a link for the article thanks to Laura Shanley. You may need high speed Internet to view it because it's big. The first page is here www.http://ucbirth.com/evemagazine1.html and you hit 'next' link at the bottom of each screen. My page, page 3, it is here: www.http://ucbirth.com/evemagazine3.html I am the far right column. Unfortunately the photo they used IS NOT me! I don't know who it is, and they said either do they! Thanks to Laura Shanley for putting this online!

July 18, 2007 I have changed the layout a bit here and have a domain now! My site can now be accessed by going to www.birthandmotherhood.com I will be changing my header as well soon. I will no longer be shaunamama. Well, I will be Shaunamama. :) But, the site will be birth and motherhood. I added a lot of cool pages under a new tab I'm for now calling Everything Mothers, if you can think of a better name for the section let me know. It's a page I'm adding birth art, placenta rituals, blessingways and quotes too. I just finished up an ALACE doula workshop. It was fantastic and I learned a lot. I firmly believe in a woman's ability to birth unassisted, but I was very much inspired to help where women do need help the most, hospitals. It was a great workshop. I met great people. Such a fantastic experience!

 My new blog:The Laundry Line

July 10 2007 I am excited to be in the latest issue of eve Magazine, a "top UK glossy." There is an article titled Freebirthing: Would You Lock Out The Midwife? Overall, I am very pleased with how it turned out. Just a note though; the mini picture featired next to my section is not me. I have no idea who it is. My boobs are not that big. I'd love to claim them though. ;) Seriously though - It's nice to see more press about freebirth! Parts of Penelope's birth story made it into the article in a section called "THE FREEBIRTH DIARIES." Penelope's birth story URL was also included. If you are visiting from eve magazine, thanks for stopping by and for your interest in freebirthing!

I am still trying to add new stuff all the time. Homeschooling 5 kids is proving to be very time consuming, imagine that!I I would really like to work on the childhood illness pages, as I know that is a very useful and important section I've yet to complete. I am very busy with my kids and various local projects. I want to hold a Red Tent Event this Labor Day and my friend Molly and I have recently started up a Holistic Moms Network Chapter in our area.
