baby wearing
Babies were meant to be babied.

Wearing your baby is a general term that means carrying your baby against your body in a sling or wrap. Baby wearing is as old as time and is a safe and natural way for a mother to stay in contact with her child. Most wraps or slings are used from newborn all the way up to 3 years old. Today babies still benefit from being worn and is a practice found all over the globe.

In many parts of the world this sight is a common one. In many communities the older children care for the younger ones, and even wear them.  In some parts of the world people actually think it is strange that we rely on modern contraptions to soothe our babies. Swings, motorized rockers, bouncy chairs and other mother substitutes interfere with bonding and should never be used in excess.

I am found of The Sling Station. You can find descriptions of slings and pictures there. I enjoy a Moby type tyle wrap for younger babies. I love my Ergo however, and feel my Ergo baby carrier  is worth it's weight in gold!
